As the U.S. Small Business Administration’s assistant administrator for women’s business ownership, Ana Recio Harvey is the director of the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership. She oversees the agency’s efforts to promote the growth of women-owned businesses through programs that provide business training and counseling, access to credit and capital, and multiple business and networking opportunities. Julia E. Lyn Doverspike has served as Director of the Pittsburgh office of the U.S. commercial Service since 2003.  Ms. Doverspike and her staff address the exporting needs of companies in 36 of the 67 counties of Pennsylvania and regularly provide assistance to companies in export consulting, foreign market intelligence reporting, overseas business-to-business matchmaking, advocacy and commercial diplomacy. Symposium Presentation: Doing Business with the Commonwealth
Gayle Nuppnau is the Procurement Liaison, for the PA Dept. of General Services, Bureau of Small Business Opportunities (BSBO).  She is responsible for reviewing contracts and implementing the Small Diverse Business program.  Additionally, she educates small businesses on state contracting policies and procedures by providing technical workshops, marketing and verification assistance. Deciding between equity financing and taking on a loan for your business is a challenge for all small business owners when they need capital to expand a business. The Affordable Care Act includes a variety of measures specifically for small businesses that help lower premium cost growth and increase access to quality, affordable health insurance. Depending on whether you are self-employed, an employer with fewer than 25 employees, an employer with fewer than 50 employees, or an employer with 50 or more employees, different provisions of the Affordable Care Act may apply to you.

Apply for 50 Fastest Growing Women Owned/Led Companies

Deadline extended to March 4, 2013. 

Submit your application for the Women Presidents' Organization sixth annual search for the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies™ in North America, sponsored by American Express OPEN.

Companies will be ranked according to revenue growth from 2008 through 2012. The 50 fastest growing companies have the chance of being published online and in print.

To be eligible, companies must be...
  • privately-owned
  • women-owned/led
  • must have generated $500,000 in annual revenue by year end 2007
  • must have reached revenues of $2 million by year-end 2012
You do not have to be a WPO member to apply.
